The FDEP just posted the draft rule, worksheets, and notice of upcoming workshop on revisions to the Uniform Mitigation Assessment Method (UMAM).

This will affect the way that wetland impacts and mitigation are calculated throughout Florida, so is essential for practitioners to review, test and provide input. Excerpt of their announcement follows:

  1. Rule amendments to Chapter 62-345, FAC (strike/underline)
  2. UMAM Part I Form (Qualitative Assessment)
  3. UMAM Part II Form for “Standard” assessment of wetlands and other surface waters.
  4. UMAM Part II Form customized for assessment of “Submerged Aquatic Habitat” (seagrass/hardbottom).
  5. UMAM Part II Form customized for assessment of “Streams.”
  6. The document labeled “Rule Citations” with rule cross-references of draft scoring criteria provided to the current rule.
