HOW IT WORKS

Find Credits in Your Project's Watershed

Wetland mitigation credits must be applied within the same water management district — and often the same basin — as your permitted impact. Browse MBG’s banks by district below to find credits that qualify for your specific project location.

THE PROCESS

How to Purchase Mitigation Credits

Three steps from project impact to mitigation requirement fulfilled

Identify Your Basin

Credits must be purchased within the same water management district and basin as your permitted wetland impact. MBG can confirm your project’s basin assignment.

Determine Credits Needed

Your permitting agency uses UMAM to calculate the functional loss from your project and the number of credits required to achieve no net loss.

Purchase Through MBG

MBG executes the credit transfer agreement and notifies the permitting agency, completing your mitigation obligation.
