The Mitigation Banking industry in Florida is growing at a rapid pace and it is the preferred way to mitigate for adverse wetland impacts. Establishment of a mitigation bank brings together biological planning and scientific expertise. Consolidating expertise increases the potential for long-term successful mitigation that maximizes contribution to the environment.

There are approx. 80 mitigation banks permitted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Florida and 123 mitigation banks permitted by a state agency in Florida.
The number one most important part of permitting a mitigation bank is having a professional with the necessary expertise to guide the permitting process with both the state and federal agencies.
